Gold Coast Mental Health Service is a large, dynamic and rapidly expanding service which provides mental health care to the Gold Coast. 

We are located in the new $1.76 billion Gold Coast University Hospital which is one of Qld’s largest clinical teaching and research facilities.

Our services

The Gold Coast is a major training location. We currently have over 60 Accredited Training positions in psychiatry covering Stage 1, 2 & 3 placements in Adult, Generalist, Child and Adolescent, Psychogeriatrics, Psychotherapy, Addiction and Consultation Liaison. 

We also have opportunities for house officer positions in other subspecialties including our hospital rotational pool, medicine and our emergency department.  

What we have to offer

We have 12-month contracts for medical officers in either FY2 or FY3+.

After your 12 months with us, you will have several options: ‐

1. Stay and continue your training here OR
2. Travel and see some of the amazing sights OR
3. Return home after enjoying a working holiday near the stunning beaches of the Gold Coast.

We have a dedicated workforce team who will walk you through the registration, visa and relocation process. We provide a relocation package to help cover your moving expenses, airfares and 2 weeks accommodation on arrival. Our team will assist you with orientation and onboarding to the service and our buddy program will help you get settled and comfortable in your transition.
