Consultants in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery 
with a Specialist Interests in Temporomandibular Joint Disease, Skin Cancer and Salivary Gland Disease and Trauma

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is part of the Head and Neck Directorate within the Surgical Care Group which also includes ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. The Department provides comprehensive emergency and elective in patient, day case and out-patient services to the catchment population of the Trust.  

The Clinical Service Review and recent merger of Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals into University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) will see a reconfiguration of OMFS services with emergencies and major surgery moving to the Bournemouth site.  

The OMFS Department provides a comprehensive emergency, outpatient, in-patient and day case provision for the population of Dorset. Services include maxillofacial trauma, head and neck cancer, orthognathic surgery, salivary gland disease, temporomandibular joint disease, skin cancer, dentoalveolar surgery and oral medicine including facial pain.

The successful applicant will join our four existing consultants on the emergency on call rota with the team providing a Dorset-wide service. 

Applicants will accept elective referrals to be seen in the out-patient setting and undertake elective and emergency operating.
