Consultant Paediatric Respiratory Medicine

Applications are invited for a substantive consultant post in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and Regional Lead for the Paediatric Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia service for the Midlands.  

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, & enthusiastic individual, to take on this full time (10-programmed activities) replacement substantive consultant post to lead the nationally commissioned central England primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) management service, & to support the paediatric respiratory medicine department. 50% of the job plan will be dedicated to delivering and supporting the PCD management service.  

Leicester children’s hospital is one of four national centres for PCD management. The successful candidate will take on the clinical lead for this regional service, providing specialist advice, education, & support to health care professionals regionally and nationally. Applicants will be expected to hold a CCT in paediatric respiratory medicine.  

The post holder will also join the existing clinical respiratory team in participating in all aspects of paediatric respiratory medicine. The inpatient service is based at the Leicester Children’s Hospital (on the Leicester Royal Infirmary site), where the successful candidate will share consult-ant duties as a daytime consultant of the week (1 in 6)
