We are excited to invite you to apply for the role of SAS doctor within Care of the Elderly department, part of the General Medicine Directorate at Southport Hospital
The post holder will undertake supervised work and participate in the Registrar on-call rota including nights and weekends (not longer than 12.5 hrs at a time).
We are in the process of increasing the number of junior doctors in the department of Medicine at Southport Hospital.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and achieve competences at these levels, whilst working in a forwarding thinking hospital environment.
This post will be ideal for Doctors planning a career in general medicine or Care of the Elderly, for those taking a break from their training to explore different specialties or overseas doctors who want to work in the UK in a supportive environment.
Complete MRCP(UK) is desirable with GMC registration however candidates who have completed MRCP Part one and two with GMC registration would also be considered.
While this is a non-training post, the post holder will be supervised by their clinical supervisor, be able to attend teaching sessions in the Trust, have an electronic learning portfolio (for a fee) and have access to a well-equipped library with IT facilities.
This is an exciting time to join Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. We have recently expanded our A&E department which has improved the experience for patients and the environment in which they are treated.
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
