This is an opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Bournemouth West Community Mental Health Team, Based at Hahnemann House in Bournemouth.

The postholder will join the Trust at an exciting time, as we build on our Outstanding CQC rating and start work with newly-formed Primary Care Networks, to further develop mental health services that meet the needs of local communities. Bournemouth West CMHT is well-established and has excellent relationships with other services.

The base, Hahnemann House is a Hub for a number of other services including, Assertive Outreach East, Acute Day Services, Homeless Health Services, Recovery Education Centre, Veterans service and a Retreat drop in (out of Hours).

This post also attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £10,000 to paid by monthly instalments for the first year of employment.

It is located in the centre of Bournemouth a few minutes' walk from the beaches and all the amenities in the town centre. The coast line around Bournemouth and the wider area is an area of great natural beauty and vibrant local culture, and offers a fantastic work-life balance. Changes to the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 will become effective from 1 April 2022. The regulations will make the COVID-19 vaccination a condition of employment for all patient-facing staff who will be carrying out a CQC regulated activity, which means that any successful applicants must provide evidence that they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an authorised vaccine, unless they are subject to an exemption.

In order to comply with the timescales set within the regulations, successful applicants in scope of the regulations must have their first COVID-19 vaccination by 3 February 2022. Proof of vaccination (or exemption) will be required as part of the recruitment process.
