This is a unique opportunity for a dermatologist who enjoys managing severe and complex skin disease to make a big difference in a major regional centre of Australia. The role will have a significant teaching component and the successful applicant will play a key role in training a future generation of dermatologists in Queensland.

You'll be joining a vibrant Dermatology department, working in tropical Australia's only tertiary hospital. In this role, you will primarily oversee the clinical activity of a team of registrars and pre-vocational doctors, who under your supervision, will deliver world-class care to patients in outpatient clinics and admitted patients.

You will love teaching at the bedside and will challenge, support and mentor our trainees to become excellent clinicians.

The clinical case mix you'll encounter will fascinate even the most experienced of dermatologists. Working in the major referral hospital in tropical Queensland, you can expect to encounter the full spectrum of dermatologic disease. In addition, you'll have a unique opportunity to manage tropical dermatoses seldom encountered elsewhere in Australia and to care for Indigenous Australians (who comprise 8% of our local population). Applicants with experience and interests in skin cancer management will be particularly well-regarded. North Queensland is the skin cancer capital of the world!

Clinicians with other subspecialty interests will be supported to pursue and develop these. Similarly, there is scope to pursue research interests outside of clinical time for those with academic leanings. Moreover, with generous professional development entitlements, you'll be able to connect regularly with colleagues in Australia and around the world.

This position could suit an early career Dermatologist looking to establish themselves in a region with enormous opportunity. Alternatively, it could also suit a more experienced dermatologist looking for a new challenge in tropical Australia.
