Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Locum Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine within Perioperative Medicine (POM) at St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust). The post is a fixed term appointment of up to 6 months.

St Bartholomew's Hospital has state-of-the-art facilities for the treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease, including 10 operating theatres, 10 catheter labs, 255 general cardiac beds, with 98 higher acuity care beds, including 58 critical care beds. The Thorax Centre provides multi-disciplinary care for patients with lung disease. In addition St Bartholomew's Hospital operates a large clinical service for patients with cancer, including haematological malignancy.

Job description
Job responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the existing team of Intensive Care Consultants within Perioperative Medicine. The successful candidate will undertake sessions will join the existing team of Intensive Care consultants, based mainly in the 6th floor ICU at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The unit (6A) works alongside the 3 cardiothoracic ICUs on the first floor providing support to the whole of St Bartholomew's Hospital site, including extracorporeal cardiovascular and respiratory support.

During Covid surge critical care expansion the post holder may be required to undertake some clinical sessions at The Royal London Hospital.
