Applications are invited from trainee doctors having recently completed or about to finish UK Foundation Programmes or Core Medical Training to apply for this position of Clinical Fellow in Rheumatology.
This exciting post offers the opportunity to experience work in the Rheumatology Department at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will receive clinical support, education and training from the consultants within the department to help them develop and improve key skills and encourage a career in Rheumatology. There will be an expectation that the Clinical Fellow will attend and participate in departmental MDT meetings. There will be opportunities to participate in specialist clinics (Early Inflammatory Arthritis, Autoimmune Connective Tissue Disease, GCA) with access to departmental musculoskeletal ultrasound.
The Clinical Fellow will have protected time for development work which may include quality improvement projects, teaching and education, research, management and leadership opportunities.
The Rheumatology Service functions as a fully integrated unit with all embers contributing to a team based approach to patient care. the department consists of 4 consultants, 4 specialist nurses, a rheumatology registrar, a rheumatology pharmacist, specialist physiotherapists and occupational therapist. The rheumatology department care for patients with the full range of rheumatological diseases.
There is no acute medicine or on-call commitment with this post.
