Locum Consultant in Ophthalmology with special interest in Glaucoma

Contract: 10PAs plus on-calls, 12 months fixed term

This is a locum post is for a general ophthalmologist with recognised training in glaucomato join the glaucoma team.

The department is fully electronic with Medisoft EPR and Zeiss Forum as the platform for all imaging including Zeiss OCT and Optos. Lasers include a combinedYAG/SLT. Both operating theatres have ceiling mounted Zeiss microscopes. The latest surgical techniques are performed including iStent and Micropulse laser. There are opportunities to further develop further MIGS techniques.

A Shared Care Glaucoma Scheme with local optometrists has been running for over 12 years and cares for more than 4000 patients.The Royal Eye Infirmary (REI) is the main ophthalmic centre for the district, with a catchment population ofapproximately 450,000.

The REI is close to boththe beautiful Devon coastline and also the wonderfulwilds of Dartmoor.
