The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Women's department has an opportunity to welcome a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Gynaecology and Unit Cancer Lead to the team.
We have state of the art hospitals at Pontefract and Wakefield and are upgrading the existing Dewsbury Hospital to the same standard.
Within Gynaecology services we have a dedicated Gynaecology assessment unit on the Pinderfields site and offer a wide range of comprehensive services to our patients including an Endometriosis Centre, Colposcopy, Outpatient hysteroscopy, Minor procedures, PMB clinics, Uro-gynaecology and Gynaecology oncology.
Maternity services are delivered at all three Trust sites. We have antenatal units and clinics at all three sites and Midwifery Led Birth centres at Pinderfields and Dewsbury as well as a dedicated Consultant led labour ward at Pinderfields providing 98 hour resident cover per week. Our labour ward is directly linked to our neonatal unit where we have an excellent working relationship with our neonatal team. A separate team is responsible for Elective Caesarean sections and also provide back up to the Labour ward team if required. We also offer a bereavement suite for mothers who have suffered a still birth or late miscarriage.
Many in the department pursue interests such as research and/or have a strong commitment to service development and teaching; applicants with a shared enthusiasm for these areas are encouraged. Our team has a broad range of expertise and is proud of the improvements we have made and continue to make.
If you have an interest in delivering high quality care and being in a supportive environment to further develop your career, then this is the role for you.
We're proud to say that our hard working, talented and dynamic workforce is our greatest asset. If you are a dynamic, innovative forward thinking clinician who would like to make a significant contribution to the Trust then you could become part of the team.
We can offer a supportive working environment - in first class facilities - where excellence and innovation is valued and celebrated; by providing excellent training and development opportunities, and by offering a comprehensive package of staff benefits.
The appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and will be remunerated as appropriate on the salary scale £84,559 - £114,003 per annum.
