The Government has announced (subject to parliamentary approval) that all NHS staff who are deployed as part of CQC regulated activities and who have face-to-face contact with patients and/or service users (including incidental contacts) will need to have both their first and second Covid vaccines by 1 April 2022. Therefore, before submitting any application for employment, please note that it will be a condition of any offer of employment that, where the role falls within the scope of these regulations, you must satisfy these requirements unless you belong to one of the groups who are exempt, which are:
- Those under the age of 18
- Those who are clinically exempt
- Those who are exempt due to a short term medical condition. Pregnant women may choose to exercise this exemption - however this expires 16 weeks after giving birth.
If you have any concerns about whether this affects your eligibility to undertake a role with the Trust, you may wish to contact the recruiting manager to discuss this further. Please note that if you are successful, the pre-employment health check will require evidence of vaccination status, where appropriate, and your vaccination status will be retained as part of your employment health record.
