This post is for a Consultant General Paediatrician with a special interest in Epilepsy based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. The post holder will have the majority of their duties based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital but will be expected to undertake outpatient clinics in a variety of settings around the county. All Inpatient Paediatric and Neonatal Services are based at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. The post includes general paediatric service weeks.

The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic general paediatric and neonatal team. The Paediatric Epilepsy team consists of a Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in epilepsy and an Epilepsy Clinical Nurse Specialist. They have close links with the Neurophysiology department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital who provide an excellent service. The Epilepsy team see children and young people referred by their GP as well as those who present acutely. There is active participation in the Epilepsy12 audit and the team is successful at seeing new patients within 2 weeks of referral and performing EEG’s within 4 weeks. Transition clinics are run jointly with the adult neurology team. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to further development of the service.
