Division Head, Rheumatology, Associate or Full (w/ tenure) Professor

The Department of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA is recruiting a new Rheumatology Division Head. This leadership role would be responsible for fostering a diverse and collaborative academic community committed to innovation and discovery, providing expert clinical care, and training future leaders in rheumatology.

For over 60 years, the Rheumatology Division at UW has excelled in basic, translational and clinical research, education, and patient care.  The division, which includes over 30 paid faculty across 4 clinical sites, leads rheumatic disease care for the Puget Sound and WWAMI region.  A vibrant, collaborative, and growing group of NIH-funded investigators drive the division’s research program, including its Rheumatic Diseases Biorepository.  The division also has one of the longest running NIH-funded rheumatology training programs in the country and has a strong tradition of fostering future leaders in rheumatology.

Appointment to the full-time faculty would be at the rank of associate or full professor with tenure. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. This position would have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30]. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The final candidate will have the opportunity to participate in investigation in basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiological research. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. Qualifications

Candidates should have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and board certification in Rheumatology (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent, as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
