The Mid Yorkshire Stroke Service require a Consultant to complement the current team providing stroke services for the Wakefield District, north Kirklees, some parts of south Leeds and the Hyperacute Services for large parts of Barnsley. This position is a substantive post for Stroke Medicine.

You will join a team of 5 substantive Stroke Physicians, 6 Consultant Neurologists, Consultant Neurophysiologists and a Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation. You will assist in delivering holistic patient focused care by multi-disciplinary and multi-speciality collaboration in a large Acute Stroke Centre. The post is expected to support the entire pathway which will cover Hyperacute services currently being 1:8, acute stroke unit and the rehabilitation unit as well as providing on calls for thrombolysis both out of hours and weekends. The consultant is expected to support running of the TIA clinic which is held every day of the week.

The Neurosciences Unit provides a sub-regional Neurological Service to parts of West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.

Applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of receiving a CCT at the time of the advisory appointments committee.

The appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and will be remunerated as appropriate on the salary scale £84,559 - £114,003 per annum.
