Abdominal/Non vascular interventional Fellow post.

Bristol Royal Infirmary is the tertiary centre for upper GI surgery and hepatobiliary surgery as well as specialist oncology work including RF liver ablation and TACE.

We host multiple tertiary MDTs every week including upper and lower GI, hepatobiliary, neuroendocrine and complex urological cancers .

The role will involve supporting the four abdominal radiologists BRI in MRI and CT reporting, MDT preparation, ultrasound and non-vascular intervention.

There would be provision for one session of acute CT/MRI reporting ( Hub session) per week and a plain film or general ultrasound session per week. The remaining sessions would be for specialist work . There are interventional sessions every day including ultrasound and Ct guided procedures, biopsies and drains as well as PTCs and limited vascular interventions.

There would also be scope for uroradiology and gyne radiology sessions.

  • Up to date knowledge and experience in general abdominal radiology
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, clinical colleagues, support staff and other colleagues
  • Good knowledge of, and ability to use, spoken and written English
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multi-professional basis with all levels of staff both within and across divisions

  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
