We are looking for a Consultant Dermatologist to join our team on the beautiful Isle of Man, where we are aiming to become the best small Island-based health and care system!
About the hospital and service
By joining us you will be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
Noble’s and Ramsey and District Cottage Hospitals provide a comprehensive service for patients with skin cancer, serving a rural geographical area of 220 square miles with a population of approximately 85,000.
The service is primarily based at Ramsey District and Cottage Hospital where there is a dedicated skin and plastic surgery suite with excellent theatre and consulting room facilities. Phototherapy (UVB and PUVA) has been based at Noble’s Hospital but will be moved to Ramsey in the near future.
A comprehensive medical dermatology service including patch testing, biological treatments and paediatric dermatology are provided.
The Skin Service currently comprise a visiting Consultant Dermatologist, one part-time Consultant Dermatologist and one Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. The team are supported by 2 clinical nurse specialists to provide support for skin cancer patients and patients with chronic skin conditions in delivering independent clinics, clinical governance activities and a GP with Extended Role (GPwER) who provides clinics and minor surgery. Several GPwER are currently in training.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.
