General Practitioner

We are seeking motivated/ enthusiastic Salaried GPs or GP Partners to join the Beacon Medical Group, (GPs new to Partnership would be entitled to a NHS golden handshake). We have been fortunate to recruit paramedics, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social prescribers, first contact physiotherapists and mental health workers to make a large impact on GP Workload.

Our practice works over two Hubs (Plympton and Ivybridge) and we are looking for a GP to be based in each of the hubs. We currently have 19 partners which reduces overall risk and are looking for the right GP for our practice – we are open to portfolio working with many of our GPs having other interests to remain resilient.

We place a strong emphasis on education, training and support, with GP registrars, Foundation Doctors, Paramedic, Nursing and Medical students, as well as apprentices. We encourage part time working patterns and some GPs have developed special interests in leadership, GP appraisal, postgraduate education, musculoskeletal medicine, dermatology and diabetes. Quality of life is important, we structure our workload and support each other to manage day to day demand.

We run a total triage system which allows more independence on how the day is managed and have a Duty day system led by our allied health professionals (Urgent Care Team) with GP support.
