Consultant in Infection, Lead OPAT, Orthopaeic & Tropical Infection

We seek an enthusiastic and dynamic Infection Consultant colleague (with special responsibility as Lead Clinician for the OPAT Service and Clinical Lead for Orthopaedic Infections and Tropical Infectious Diseases) to work in partnership with the existing Infection Consultants.
Processing approximately 400000 specimens annually we have a busy Microbiology laboratory and clinical service which reflects the ethnic backgrounds, international travel patterns and social deprivation of the local population. The 4 Infection consultants (Including this post), Specialist Infection Trainee and clinical fellow are responsible for delivering the Infection services for the Trust and local GPs.
Applicants should possess full GMC registration, FRCPath and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview. Applications from either Medical Microbiology and Virology (MMV) candidates or dual trained MMV/ID candidates are welcomed. The Trust operates flexible working and job share policies. The successful candidate will be appointed under the current terms and conditions of service for NHS Consultants.
