Consultant in Radiology (Breast)
We are looking for a humble, capable and forward-thinking breast radiologist to join our highly functional, accomplished and friendly team.
You will join existing team of 2 Consultant Radiologists, 2 Consultant Radiographers and full complement of advanced practitioners. The Breast Unit is based on the Burnley General site.
The post holder is expected to provide 5 sessions of breast imaging to the unit which will comprise a mix of symptomatic, screening and MDT.
Digital full field mammographic interpretation with breast tomosynthesis, diagnostic breast ultrasound with percutaneous FNA, core biopsy and localisation skills including MAG seed are mandatory.
A full range of diagnostic and interventional breast imaging services are provided inclusive of vacuum biopsy/removal techniques and high-risk MRI Screening.
The breast service is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including 5 full field digital mammography sets with stereotactic capability, tomosynthesis and contrast mammography, dedicated breast ultrasound equipment with shear wave elastography, vacuum biopsy equipment and dedicated breast MRI for high-risk screening and symptomatic breast imaging.
The Unit provides symptomatic services for 4 Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons with 4 double and 2 single dedicated one stop clinics per week. The breast unit also serves an eligible population of 89,000 across East Lancashire.
