Advert - Full-time (10PA's) Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine
We are looking for an individual to fill this Locum post, 10 PA's, within the Department of Respiratory Medicine at St James's University Hospital.
The successful applicant will join a friendly, dynamic team of 19 existing respiratory physicians to provide modern, high quality care to Respiratory and General Medical patients admitted to St James University Hospital, Leeds.
Leeds Teaching HospitalsNHS Trust makes up one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe housing over 3,200 beds and providing a range of general, acute and elective services, together with a significant number of regional and supra-regional specialties. The department of Respiratory Medicine has undergone significant modernisation over recent years and remains a centre for clinical and educational excellence. Inpatient services are provided in Gledhow Wing at St James's Hospital. This includes three Respiratory wards, a twelve bed NIV / Weaning unit, a dedicated CF ward, a procedures room, Sleep services and a Nurse-led day unit. There are cross city outpatient facilities including a dedicated chest clinic at Leeds General Infirmary. The unit has a strong commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research
The job plan is flexible and the aims of the post include:
To support the development of Specialist Services
To support the delivery of Consultant led daily morning ward rounds
To sustain current capacity of General Respiratory Services with a view to expand in the near future
To work closely with multidisciplinary team & developing innovative ways of working to sustain increasing patient load
The on-call commitment is 1:13 acute respiratory on call
The post is for 6 months in the first instance. Applicants must have a certificate of completion of specialist training in respiratory and general internal medicine.
