We are seeking consultants with enthusiasm, commitment and drive to work closely with colleagues throughout the organisation and within the community to help lead the organisation. We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Nephrologist for one year based at the Lister hospital in Stevenage

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant:

• Will share the responsibilities for providing acute nephrology and AKI care in a large tertiary renal unit (non-transplant) and providing care for a cohort of general medical and renal patients
• Will be part of a team of consultants performing practical procedures including tunnelled dialysis catheter insertions, peritoneal dialysis catheters and native/transplant biopsies and training SpRs
• Will provide care for a cohort of patients receiving renal replacement therapy
• Will have joint responsibilities in overseeing delivery of an expanding OP service that includes specialist nephrology, outreach and post-transplant clinics
• Will have joint responsibilities to participate in the referral/advisory service to near by non-renal centres
• Will participate in the Renal On call rota

Qualifications

• College Membership (MRCP) or qualification of an equivalent level Dual Accreditation in GIM and Renal Medicine
