Job Details

Are you interested in working with a team who embrace high standards of clinical care, innovation and teaching whilst at the same time valuing a healthy work-life balance?

Come and join our friendly, committed team and make us even better! Located on the Norfolk coast within walking distance of long sandy beaches and close to the beautiful Norfolk Broads. The James Paget Hospital has been consistently ranked among the top 100 “Best NHS Providers to work for”, due to its supportive atmosphere and positive management culture. CQC inspection in 2019 rated the hospital “Good” overall, with outstanding for “Responsive”.

The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (JPUH) is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Cardiology & General Medicine.   This is a replacement full time substantive position.

The post holder will have responsibility for providing a Cardiology service in conjunction with 4 (soon to become 5) visiting consultants. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified specialist to actively contribute to the further development of a modern Cardiology service within this highly regarded Trust with its wide range of acute and community services, which will afford high professional visibility. It would particularly suitable for someone with an interest in heart failure and cardiac imaging but we are open to discussion with regard to your interest and expertise.

We have a large proportion of elderly patients with heart failure, often with multiple comorbidities. A Cardiologist with suitable general medical skills and accreditation would therefore be ideally suited in order to manage these patients holistically.

The post-holder would be required to be part of the General Medical on call service, with weekday cover around 1:18 and weekend cover of 1:15.

For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit please contact Dr Sunil Nair, Clinical Lead for Cardiology (sunil.nair@nnuh.nhs.uk) or Anna Blackburn, Assistant Medical Director for the Division of Medicine, Diagnostics and Clinical Support (anna.blackburn@jpaget.nhs.uk)
