Consultant Physician in Genitourinary and HIV Medicine

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) invites applications for a Consultant Physician in Genitourinary and HIV Medicine based at the City of Coventry Health Centre. This is a post in an established service supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team comprising of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Nurses, a Pharmacist and Medicines Management.

The post holder will work in the Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS), under the Community Health Directorate, providing a comprehensive specialist service for Contraceptive and Sexual Consultant Physician in Genitourinary and HIV Medicine Health (CASH) and HIV services. The ISHS team have recently been presented with the Trusts Quality Award for Working Together.

The department sees over 25,000 patients, including over 800 HIV patients, with Coventry having a high rate of sexually transmitted infections, teenage pregnancy and HIV infections. The ISHS provides a specialist service for family planning and reproductive health, also offering family planning training to GPs.

The successful candidate will join the Consultant team and deliver high-quality care for the different services this department provides. The post will be based on a 10 PA job plan (7.5 PAs in Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 PAs in Supporting Professional Activities). Participation in the ISHS Consultant on-call rota is also expected.

The Trust is a teaching Trust with close links to Warwick Medical School. The post holder will be expected to take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The post holder will also be expected to participate in the necessary supporting professional activities such as audits in order to work towards successful Revalidation. We are looking for individuals who are experienced and work well in a multidisciplinary team. They must also be excellent communicators. The applicant must be on the Specialist Register in Genitourinary medicine. Those who are within 6 months of obtaining their CCT by the date of the interview may also apply.
