We are looking to recruit ten enthusiastic Physician Associates to join the Integrated Medicine team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is a permanent position. Initially, the post holder will join our existing pool of Physician Associates to undertake a rotation through various specialities within Integrated Medicine for two years. On completion of this rotation, the post holder will be involved in the selection of a specialty to be assigned to permanently.

The post will also include regular shifts with the on-call team. This will allow the post-holder to develop their clerking skills and become familiar with a wide range of clinical presentations.

There will also be opportunity to learn advanced clinical skills relevant to rotation, including but not limited to:

• Lumbar puncture.
• Ascitic tap/drain insertion.
• Pleural tap/drain insertion.
• Nerve blocks.
• Fracture reduction.
• Backslab application.
• Joint aspiration or joint injection.

The post will initially be Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 or a total of 37.5 hours per week as agreed with the department. Evening shifts may be introduced to meet the department service needs. The post-holder will also be required to work 1:6 weekends in the Acute Medical Unit.
