DETAILS / SUMMARY OF JOB

King's Kidney Care provides high quality, holistic care to people with kidney disease across a diverse population (estimated at 1.2m) and wide geographical area in South-East London and in areas of Kent, Woolwich/ Greenwich, Bexley, Bromley and Sydenham. The multi-disciplinary team of over 300 people is based at Denmark Hill with outreach to include Princess Royal University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich, and with HD units in Bromley, Dartford, Dulwich, Sydenham, Thamesmead and Woolwich.

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has an enviable track record in clinical service provision, research and development, and service innovation.

We are proud of our collaborative, multidisciplinary team approach, and are looking for two colleagues to join a dynamic team of 16 Consultant Nephrologists.

Post 1 - Consultant Nephrologist with special interest in Transplant (Part-time 6 PAs).
Post 2 - Consultant Nephrologist with special interest in Dialysis (Full-time 10 PAs).


These 2 posts offer diverse clinical opportunities, including peritoneal dialysis, haemodialysis (satellite and home), AKI, procedures and general nephrology, in addition to time to support the development of new Trust IT systems. The job descriptions are indicative and may be tailored to expertise and interest. We have a highly successful, supportive, and well-established research team and are keen to recruit consultants with an interest in developing both portfolio and commercial research.

The successful candidates will have a CCST in nephrology (or be within 3 months of their completion date). The posts are advertised as 10 PAs and 6 PAs, but we welcome applications from people seeking fewer PAs.

You must be fully registered with the GMC, hold a Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent to be eligible for interview.

The post holder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years), therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
