Bridgwater CMHT Consultant

  • Part time – 5 PA’s
  • Offering support to obtain specialist registration through CESR route

Are you an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist looking for a new, exciting opportunity that can offer flexible and reduced working hours, or someone wanting to relocate somewhere that can offer beautiful stretches of sandy coastlines, warm summers as well as an outstanding quality of life?

We are looking for someone like you to join the Bridgwater community mental health service alongside our team of 4 established consultant psychiatrists, delivering direct interventions to patients including assessment, diagnosis and treatment to the physical health needs of patients referred to the service.

You will provide visible and clear, clinical leadership to the mental health service both locally and across the trust and contribute to the development of the service needs. As well as this you’ll be required to work collaboratively with other clinical staff to ensure a smooth transition of patients that are admitted and discharged from the wards. Even though you will not have any inpatient responsibilities, you’ll work closely with the inpatient and community teams to provide effective, multidisciplinary care; this will include case discussions and advice to the team members and team managers.

Alongside the 4 established consultants, you will be joining a supportive and friendly team made up of Nurses, support workers, Assistant practitioners and medical secretaries.  Bridgwater also has an early intervention team and home treatment team with their own dedicated consultants.

Is this role ticking all your boxes, but you haven’t obtained your specialist registration? We are opening this role up to doctors that are within 6 months of passing their CCT and also giving doctors the opportunity to obtain their specialist registration through the CESR route which will be fully supported by the department. You will also be encouraged to develop special interests within your role which can be job-planned and supported by the trust.
