About us:

Broad Lane Surgery is currently a 2 partner, 2 salaried doctored GMS practice in Hampton, a leafy suburban village on the outskirts of Southwest London. We care for a list of 5900 patients from a converted residential property which has had considerable modification to make it a pleasant working environment. We are a close and friendly team  fortunate to enjoy a positive working relationship with our PCN and Federation.

The practice operates with a morning session spanning 8:30am – 1:30pm with afternoon sessions timings of 2:30pm – 6:30pm. We have 15 minute appointments and offer a mixture of face to face and telephone bookings. A standard list is made up of 16 patients. All doctors contribute to the duty doctor rota.  We have recently migrated from Vision to EMIS and have the benefit of Ardens and Accurx. Pathology links, Docman and reports are managed throughout the day.

We have scored highly in our QOF achievements as well as in our Enhanced services. We have current representation on the LMC and in recent years we have been closely involved in the management of our PCN being the clinical lead for the first 2 years. We also have representation on the training Hub Board. The practice enjoys hosting medical students from Imperial and is currently in the process of becoming a training practice for registrars. This adds to the current practical in-house training we offer our clinical pharmacists who are in the process of completing their postgraduate diplomas as well the Independent Prescribing Course.

We recognise that the life of a modern-day GP is challenging, and we are doing our best to make current and future team members feel supported. Addressing GP workload is a main priority of the practice and we have taken steps to recruit several staff members to help ease the burden of work on the doctors:

  • 1WTE Clinical pharmacist cover for our practice alone through the PCN who now assist us with repeat prescriptions, QOF reviews and audit.
  • PCN physiotherapists who offer 18 telephone appointments a week
  • Senior ex-matrons who manage the vast majority of our home visits.
  • Administrative support in managing Docman- only documents requiring action are passed to the doctors

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a salaried GP to join our team due to our growing list size, offering 5 sessions a week which can include extended hours and Saturday morning sessions dependent on preference.

Ideal candidates need to be committed to delivering high quality care and have strong attention to detail. Desirable skills include an enthusiasm for teaching and ability fit coils. We would also look to support you in developing an area if interest.

To apply, please submit a copy of your CV. Please note you will be required to provide two references should you be successful for the role. An informal visit prior to applying can be arranged by the practice manager.
