Our Purpose: Why we do it

When you work with the Canterbury District Health Board, you’re part of something very special. We plan, fund and deliver health services to the almost 600,000 New Zealanders that live in the Canterbury region. Our primary goal is to put people at the heart of everything we do.

The Team: What we do

Canterbury District Health Board is home to an innovative Pain Management Centre at Burwood Hospital working with people who have chronic non-malignant pain, and frequently an array of other factors affecting their wellbeing.

The Pain Management Centre works as an Interdisciplinary Team to help patients reclaim areas of function in their lives that have been lost as a result of chronic pain. The co-ordinated interdisciplinary service provides outpatient clinics and programmes; interventional procedures and occasional inpatient admissions.

The Role: Where you fit in

We are looking for a permanent full time or part time Specialist Pain Medicine Physician including those with subspecialty experience in Interventional Pain Management (including Neuromodulation) to join us.

To be considered for this position you will need to be eligible to get registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, and you must qualify according to the terms and conditions laid down by the Faculty of Pain Medicine.

Our Culture: What matters to us

Ko Te Whatu Manawa Tangata
Putting people at the heart of all we do

Health is ultimately all about people. What’s important around here is the way we care for and respect others, the responsibility taken for delivering outcomes, and going about our work with integrity.

Belonging Here: Becoming part of our story

Being part of the Canterbury District Health Board, you will enjoy a fantastic benefits scheme, the opportunity for flexible working arrangements and ongoing focus on your career development.
