New GP roles available due to expansion of our team and maternity leave cover at our supportive and innovative Wimbledon GP practice.
We are pleased to offer a traditional permanent GP role (up to 8 sessions).
In addition, we have a brand new fixed term role for a GP with an interest in children’s health staffing our Winter Children’s Clinic. This will be shorter sessions Monday-Friday with little administrative work, ideal for someone seeking the flexibility of a locum role with the security of a fixed term contract.

The Nelson Medical Practice sits within the Nelson Health Centre, an award winning purpose built facility opened in 2015 and housing diagnostics, community services, outpatients, mental health services, an extended access GP hub and a pharmacy.
We are a large and diverse practice serving 30,000 patients. To maintain continuity of care we work in three clinical teams led by partners and supported by dedicated patient care coordinators. Our multidisciplinary team includes ANPs, physician associates, clinical pharmacists, paramedics, social prescribing link workers, and health and well-being coaches. Our patient care is holistic and person centered, achieved through regular MDTs, clinical meetings and learning events.
As a training practice, a learning culture underpins everything we do. All clinical staff have a dedicated mentor and access to in-house appraisal. This is a great place to develop your interests in teaching & training, specialist clinical areas, quality improvement, or leadership. We manage on the day demand through our innovative Same Day Team, allowing colleagues to work together and make best use of their skills.
We achieve highly in QoF, undertake regular multidisciplinary quality improvement project and are early adopters of numerous local pilots including the community pharmacy consultation service and a BP@Home pilot. We manage administrative workload through the support of dedicated care-coordinator support and our extensive admin, secretarial and navigation team.

As a salaried GP or fixed term locum you will be working within a cohesive team of fully supportive staff enabling you to focus on the quality of care of your patients.
In all roles we are offering a competitive sessional rate, including NHS Pension; 6 weeks annual leave + 8 bank holidays (Pro rata for part time and fixed term contracts) and 5 days study leave.
The Children’s Clinic role, is completely new and intended to support anticipated pressures this winter (November to March). The clinic will run daily in the morning and provide easy access for children with acute illnesses requiring same day assessment following isolation precautions in the current pandemic climate. This will be 5 sessions per week (Monday – Friday) with some flexibility in clinic times and little follow-up or administration anticipated. Experience in the acute and urgent care of children essential. Depending on the success of the role over winter months there may be the opportunity to transition into a permanent role.
