Deputy Director of Public Health (1.0WTE),
Cardiff and Vale Local Public Health Team
Base location: Woodland House, Maes-y-Coed Road, Cardiff
Accountability: The post holder will be: Professionally and managerially responsible to the Executive Director of Public Health
The post holder will hold an honorary contract with Cardiff and Vale UHB
Salary scale: NHS medical consultant scale (point commensurate with previous experience) or NHS agenda for change Band 9 for non medical staff plus responsibility allowance
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and skilled Consultant in Public Health Medicine / Public Health to join the Cardiff and Vale Public Health Team in a permanent Deputy Director role. The post holder will be joining a dynamic and high performing team with a strong focus on partnerships for population health improvement.
We are looking for a forward-thinker with drive and strong leadership skills to both help shape our distinctive local public health agenda and inform decisions which will impact on the health and wellbeing of the population of Cardiff and the Vale.
In this role you will both hold corporate responsibilities and a specific portfolio of work for which you will ensure expert public health leadership, support and advice. This will include providing systems leadership and support to specific areas of work such as tackling health inequalities and healthcare improvement.
You will work closely with colleagues across Cardiff and Vale to maximise public health outcomes and will have experience of working with a wide range of partners and organisations including local authorities, third sector, NHS organisations, academic institutions and the media.
