Locum Consultant in Cleft Surgery and Paediatric Plastic Surgery
Applications are invited for a 10 month Locum Consultant in Cleft Surgery and Paediatric Plastic Surgery (10PA's) to cover maternity leave. This post is to commence from 29 December 2021 until the 04 September 2022.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team player to join the Cleft.NET.East multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be involved in multidisciplinary outpatient clinics both at Addenbrooke’s and in outreach settings and performing surgery for children and young people following the 20 year Cleft Pathway.
The post holder will be involved in the Paediatric Plastic surgery outpatient clinics and performing surgery for children requiring plastic intervention. They will also be required to provide general Plastic Surgery On Call cover 1:12 and “Hot Week” (On Call daytime cover for Plastic Surgery) 1:12.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and have a completed a TIG Fellowship or equivalent in Cleft Surgery, and also have a CCT or be within six months of award of CCT in ENT, Maxillofacial Surgery or Plastic Surgery CCT in Cleft Surgery or equivalent. The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Cleft.NET.East is one of nine specialised cleft services across England and Wales. We are a regional network committed to providing high quality care to children, adults and their families affected by clefts, who live in the East of England (Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Peterborough, Northamptonshire).
There will be an overnight on call commitment predicted to be 1 in 12. Weekday cover for “Hotweek” is shared with colleagues in Plastic Surgery on a minimum of a 1 in 12 rotation.
