The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is a large multi-site Trust whose ambitious programme to reconfigure services in line with leading national and international care delivery models was completed in 2016.
The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Children's and Neonatal Service has an opportunity to welcome a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individual into the team.
We have new state of the art hospitals at Pontefract and Wakefield and are upgrading the existing Dewsbury Hospital to the same standard. Children's services are delivered at all three Trust sites. We have a Neonatal unit at Pinderfields which has an excellent working relationship with our Obstetric team. The Children's ward has specialist HDU and Burns areas, who work closely with our surgical colleagues in a multidisciplinary team. Within Paediatrics' Services there are dedicated Children's Accident and Emergency and Children's Assessment units at Pinderfields and Dewsbury Sites and offer a wide range of comprehensive services to our patients Trust wide including:
- Level 2 Neonatal Service
- Regional Children's Burns Centre
- Dedicated Children's Outpatients on all 3 sites
- Diabetes and Endocrine service
- Epilepsy Service
- Child Development Service
- Community Paediatric Service
- Cardiology Service
- Rheumatology Service
- Gastroenterology Service
- Nephrology Service
- Respiratory Service
Many in the department pursue interests such as research and/or have a strong commitment to service development and teaching; applicants with a shared enthusiasm for these areas are encouraged. We are looking for applicants with a special interest in Neonatal Medicine. If you have an interest in delivering high quality Paediatric and Neonatal care, and being in a supportive environment to further develop your career this is the role for you.
The appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and will be remunerated as appropriate on the salary scale £84,559 - £114,003 per annum.
