As part of a trust-wide process to modernize medicine we are currently recruiting for a physician's associate at band 7 to join the General Medical Care group at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley. The successful individual will be employed on a fixed term basis and form a new part of the workforce expansion within medicine at the PRUH.

Medicine at the Princess Royal University Hospital includes the acute and ambulatory care services as well as core general and speciality medicine. A large proportion of our patients are acutely unwell and/or frail and elderly. The experience gained in supporting and managing these complex cases would give an amazing opportunity for an individual to broaden their experience and continue their professional development.

Posts are available across the medical specialities including Respiratory, GIM, Acute Frailty, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology and Stroke.

This post would be suitable for any physician's associate who has, or are on course to, successfully complete an accredited Physician's Associate Training Program either in the UK or internationally such as the NCCPA from the United States.

They will work under the direction and clinical supervision of the medical consultant on their base ward as part of the medical workforce on the ward.

The role is principally to provide the team with a regular, reliable medical assistant to support patient care especially relating to patient flow and continuity of care. The independence of the post holder is anticipated to develop during the post leading to greater and varied clinical responsibility within the role depending on its needs.

The post holder will take part in quality improvement and clinical governance of the ward.

The post holder will have the opportunity to be part of the development of the PA role at the hospital and to use the opportunity to lead on the recruitment, training and development of further PAs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our dedicated workforce and join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation for innovation and the desire to make a difference.
