The London Borough of Bromley has a growing, aging population. It already has the largest population of older people of all the London Boroughs with 58,200 people aged 65+ years, about 17% of population. It is expected that this will increase to 82,500 (42% increase) by 2035.The older population accounts for 53% of emergency admissions and 72% of bed days.

The General Medicine Care Group at Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) is seeking to add to their team of consultants to provide General Internal Medicine for inpatients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and compassionate consultant. The post holder will be working within the General Medicine care group to supplement the team both for inpatients and as part of the acute medical take team on a rota basis. We encourage candidates with other subspecialty interests to apply and are able to expand and modify the role to match the post holder's specialty interests.

The Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital are based in Locksbottom and Orpington. These are highly sought-after locations due to its close proximity to its good primary and secondary schools. Bromley also has nationally recognised grammar schools.

From Bromley or Orpington, a train will take you into the centre of London in 20 minutes. We are equally well located for escaping into the countryside of Kent. Bromley has the highest number of green areas of any of the London Boroughs.

We welcome and encourage potential candidates to come for an informal visit. To discuss a visit or for an informal discussion, please contact Dr Elizabeth Hadley, Clinical Director, or Stephen Bristow Service Manager on 01689 866088,
