This is an exciting time for General Practice. All practices within the county have come together to work in Primary Care Networks (PCNs). These are groups of GP practices working in partnership to support their local population.

Principal Medical Ltd is working with the Banbury Cross Primary Care Network to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Physician Associate to work to support our Banbury Cross Primary Care Network (PCN) team in to provide direct clinical care to patients.

As a Physician Associate you will provide first point of contact care for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems by utilising history-taking, physical examinations and clinical decision-making skills to establish a working diagnosis and management plan in partnership with the patient (and their carers where applicable).

The successful applicant will need to be confident to work autonomously, but will have the appropriate support of the wider primary care multi-disciplinary team and the Clinical GP Lead as needed. You will also support the management of patient's conditions through offering specialised clinics following appropriate training including (but not limited to) family planning, baby checks, COPD, asthma, diabetes, and anticoagulation.

Evidence of working in a community/primary care setting is desirable but evidence of working within a similar health care setting and dealing with vulnerable patients is a must.

Essential Qualifications required for this post is a Post-graduate Physician Associate Diploma from an accredited PA Programme or MSc, a current and valid certification or re-certification by the UK Physician Associate National Examination. You must also have professional registration with the Faculty of Physician Associates and/or the General Medical council following implementation of statutory regulation, working within the latest code of professional conduct (CIPD).
