Specialty Doctor in Dermatology

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Based at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, SE Wales

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team of 9 Dermatology consultants, supported by 6 Dermatology clinical nurse specialists, Medical physicist and 2 Specialist Registrars. This is a 1.5 session post providing surgical support in the dermatology outpatient clinics. It is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to extend their knowledge and skills in the dermatology specialty. 

Our hub at St Woolos Hospital, Newport, has two surgical treatment rooms, phototherapy area and outpatient rooms where the full range of Dermatology subspecialties are provided. We have strong links with both primary care and secondary care services, providing joint clinics with gynaecology, rheumatology and an active skin cancer MDT with plastic surgery/radiotherapy/max fax. We provide one stop lesion clinics along with an established telederm service.

The successful candidate would be expected to participate in relevant audit and parts of the educational programme.

This position involves Regulated Activity with children and adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:

  • Enhanced check with barred list information, including an adults and children’s barred list check
