An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Ward based Physician Consultant (or Oncology consultant) to join the Oncology team at St Luke’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital (RSH) for a fixed term appointment for 12 months.

The Trust is delighted to invite an experienced or new Physician Consultant to join our friendly and motivated team.   Applications can be from either a Physician or an Oncologist. We are looking for someone who is passionate about caring for the ward based Oncology patients. 

The successful applicant will be based at the RSH in Guildford providing a high level of medical care to the Oncology patients.  The post holder will work closely with the Oncology Consultant team for Oncological care of the patient, with support from the ward based nursing team, plus the Acute Oncology team at the Royal Surrey.  The role will have a key remit in the training and support of the junior Oncology medical team, working closely with the junior medical lead and Oncology Chief of service. 

This is a 10PA post consisting of ward work, MDT meetings.  In order to fulfil the responsibilities of this post you must be eligible for full GMC registration. 

The Royal Surrey Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist Cancer and Haemato-Oncological care, including complex Cancer surgery, to the population of the South West Surrey and Hampshire, a catchment area of approximately 1.4 million. Non-surgical oncological treatment for these patients is provided at the St. Luke’s Cancer Centre, which is an integral part of the Trust. There are close links with surrounding cancer units and the Surrey Clinical Research Centre.
