Clinical Research Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology ST3 +
Applications are invited for a full-time Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology working alongside consultants and with other middle grade registrars.
The post-holder will be required to promote and support research within Gastroenterology and Hepatology department within the trust and some service level duties to support the clinical programme e.g.. clinics, GI bleed and weekend ward cover, with support from the gastroenterology consultant.Whilst the needs of the service are paramount, individual training needs are taken into account and training needs accommodated when possible.The department is the regional Liver/HPB centre, has active research interests including participation in key NIHR national portfolio clinical trials; publication in high quality journals and presentations at regional, national and international meetings. The Post will be suitable (but not mandatory) for a gastroenterology and hepatology trainee with an active interest and experience in gastrointestinal and liver disease and could support work towards a higher degree (e.g. MD/PhD) subject to further funding availability. The post-holder will directly supervised by Professor Ala and be required to work collaboratively with investigators based in higher education institutions including the University of Surrey, Kings College Hospital, Yale University, National Liver organisations and Public Health England.
This is a fixed term contract for 6 months in the first instance.
