The Mental Health Directorate is responsible for providing Adult Mental Health Services, Older People Mental Health Services, Substance Misuse Services, Forensic Psychiatry and Rehabilitation & Recovery Services.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry based at Ty Garngoch Hospital, Swansea to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Swansea Bay University Health Board Mental Health Services are currently engaging in an extensive programme of service modernisation and the OPMHS is re-shaping as part of this with an enhanced focus on community based services and reduced reliance on longer term hospital care.

The postholder will work within mental health providing services to older adults. The Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services to meet complex needs of older adults with mental health problems in the Swansea Bay divisions of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. Each division is sub-divided into geographical sectors. This post is based in Area 4 of the Swansea locality. Swansea also has a specialist Consultant-led DGH Psychiatric Liaison Service and Care Home Psychiatric In-Reach Team.
