We are looking for an individual to fill this new post within the breast imaging department and CT at St James's University Hospital.

The successful candidate will be expected to work in both breast screening and the symptomatic breast service. They will also participate in the breast screening and symptomatic MDTs. They will be delivering an acute CT session and taking part in the general on call rota. They will play an important role in delivery of targets. They will contribute to delivery of education within radiology and supervising trainees and medical students. The breast unit is active in research and they would be expected to help and support this.

The successful applicant should possess FRCR (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.

Applicants should have established skills in breast imaging, including screening and symptomatic; reporting acute CT and actively participating on the general on call rota. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.

Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.
