Applications are invited for the post of  Clinical Fellow (Higher- Senior) in Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery from 06 October 2021 for a period of 12 months in the first instance.

Main duties of the job

The duties of the post include providing senior cover for HPB patients, attending theatre/outpatient sessions and covering general surgery emergency on call rota. The work will be shared between the two HPB Higher Specialty Trainees and this post holder.  The appointed candidate will be expected to carry out a degree of clinical work independently.  The post offers opportunities for subspecialty training in HPB surgery, audit and clinical research.

Candidates should have previous experience at ST/StR/Registrar level in General Surgery. Experience in HPB Surgery is desirable although not essential.

Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
