As an Associate Specialist Community Paediatrician within the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service youll join a team who recently received a Good CQC rating following inspection.

As the Associate Specialist Community Paediatrician, you will have a deep understanding of community paediatrics and have relevant experience in the clinical management of children, including those with neurodevelopmental difficulties and safeguarding children.

Our community Paediatricians host meetings every 3 months which incorporate CPD, clinical governance, service design, safeguarding supervision and peer review, audit, medicines management and team management. Within this meeting you have the opportunity to contribute to delivering a high-quality service as well as drive service improvement and innovation with support from wider Virgin Care colleagues.

We're looking for an Associate Specialist Community Paediatrician to join our West Essex team based in Harlow, with easy access to London and the M11 and M25 motorways. This exciting opportunity will help develop the Community Paediatric Service and shape service pathways in the area.

The position can be on a full or part time basis dependant on the applicant. You will join one of the largest providers of community-based paediatricians and a growing team providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and on-going care to children, young people and families within Essex.

Main Responsibilities

Your days will be challenging and outcome driven as you provide diagnosis and ongoing care to children, young people and families in West Essex. This new post has been developed following the recommissioning of West Essex Childrens Community Services and provides you with an exciting opportunity to help to develop the Community Paediatric Service and shape service pathways in the area

The West Essex Community Paediatric Service provides a supportive and encouraging environment in which to develop as a professional with opportunities to develop in specialist fields. The post holder will share all aspects of community paediatrics with colleagues and should have relevant experience in clinical management of children, including those with neuro-developmental difficulties such as ADHD and Autism. We would welcome colleagues with a subspecialty interest, particularly individuals with experience or interest in Neurology and physical disabilities. If the successful applicant has other strengths within community paediatrics, the job plan could be adapted to fit these strengths and to the needs of the whole department.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be on the Specialist register and have full GMC registration. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how working in community settings differs from hospital and have the ability to diagnose and appropriately manage abnormalities within children. You will additionally have the opportunity to be involved in clinics focusing on neurodevelopment, special needs and autism.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
