Consultant in Later Life, East Suffolk
Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust was founded in January 2012 coming together from Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Suffolk Mental Health Partnership.
An opportunity has arisen to appoint to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist of 10 PAs specialising in Later Life Psychiatry in the East of Suffolk. The post is based in Stowmarket.
You will be working with a team of enthusiastic and committed multi-disciplinary colleagues including Nursing, Psychology, Social work, Occupational Therapy, CBT Therapists, Speech and Assistant Practitioners.
Main duties of the job
Our Integrated Delivery Teams are made up of community teams for Adult, Youth, Later Life, and Learning Disability along with other specialist services such as Eating Disorder, Early Intervention and Childrens mental health. They are based in three locations in the East locality, serving the populations of Ipswich, Coastal and Central Suffolk.

The Trust encourages leadership roles for senior clinicians as part of the core job and in additional roles, where available, in medical education, management, research and teaching.
East Suffolk is a predominantly rural area but with good rail and road links to London, and, via the coastal ports and Stansted airport, to Europe and further afield.

Applicants for the post should have or be eligible for a CCT and eligible onto the Specialist Register within six months of the interview date. Full GMC registration, approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act, eligibility for Approved Clinician status and appropriate adult psychiatry experience are required.
