Locum Consultant OR Locum Specialty Doctor in Cardiology
Applications are invited for a post as either ‘Locum Consultant Cardiologist’ or ‘Locum Specialty Doctor in Cardiology’ at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. This position is available pending appointment to a substantive Consultant position.
This post is available to start as soon as possible and will be for a fixed term of 6 months.

The department delivers a General Cardiology service within a large teaching hospital, supported by specialist services at Royal Papworth Hospital, the tertiary cardiac centre, co-located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Applicants must be registered with the GMC with a licence to practice and if applying for the Consultant post must have, or be within 6 months of achieving a CCT in Cardiology (or equivalent).
If applying for the Specialty doctor post, applicants must have 4 years full-time post graduate experience (or equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty, or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

We are seeking a colleague to contribute to General Cardiology services, including outpatient (General Cardiology / Rapid Access Chest Pain & Heart Failure) and inpatient care, including out-of-hours on-call (8 weeks / year). In addition, there may be scope to accommodate a subspecialty interest, depending on the individual and the department’s needs.
