Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist or Speciality Doctor interested in developing a newly commissioned Oxfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHs) PICU?

A newly commissioned CAMHS PICU Unit is being created in Oxford which presents two exciting, new roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop this new, purpose built paediatric PICU, which will based on the Warneford Hospital site. The ward will accommodate eight patients from within the Thames Valley Collaborative and is currently due to open in Summer 2022

Our aim is to recruit our leadership team well before opening so the successful candidates will have a pivotal role in developing the service and team. Prior to the opening of the PICU, we will work with you to provide opportunities for clinical work as well as the time needed to develop the new team and ways of working.

The Consultant post will lead the multi-disciplinary team and oversee the management of patients within the new PICU. For both posts, the successful candidates will need to have a full range of therapeutic skills and have experience of working with a multidisciplinary inpatient team.

We work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a strong and supportive clinical network of consultants underpinned by a culture of compassionate leadership and are committed to both staff development and job enrichment. We also support flexible working practices.

We have a strong tradition as a leading Trust for teaching, training and research with close links to both the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University. We are one of only two Biomedical Research centres for Mental Health in the country.
