Manx Care Video
Are you a Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Breast Radiology?
On the Island you can enjoy a great work life balance, working in a stunning location with cutting edge facilities, in a forward thinking service. Relocating is easy - we offer a generous relocation package for this role!
About the role and our team
Based within the Radiology Department Noble’s Hospital (the Islands only General District Hospital), you’ll work with a full range of imaging services and the latest mammography equipment, newly upgraded this summer.
There is a dedicated on-site Breast Unit providing both a screening and a symptomatic service. This consists of two mammography rooms, and a dedicated ultrasound room. Vacuum biopsies are also undertaken on-site.
Within this role you will have the opportunity to undertake:
- Radiology support for symptomatic one-stop clinics
- Breast screening assessment clinics
- Wire and non-wire localisation
- Image guided core and vacuum biopsy and vacuum assisted excision
- Radiology input into the Breast MDT
- Breast MRI reporting
We are interested in hearing from Consultants who have either a sole interest in Breast Radiology, or who would be interested in undertaking the Breast Radiologist role, alongside other Radiology sub-specialties. Additional PA’s may be available for this role, subject to job plan review and we would be happy to discuss this with interested candidates.
What can this role offer me?
By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
MDT is an important component of this role and you’ll be allocated sufficient sessional time to prepare, undertake and document the MDT decisions.
Your development will be well supported and you’ll have access to the on-site Training and Development Centre. We also provide generous study leave with pay and expenses to attend approved conferences and workshops in the UK.
You’ll also be able to build on and maintain UK NHS connections, as we have strong links with North West NHS Trusts and are part of the Mersey and Cheshire Cancer Alliance. We also have a video link to the Oncology unit in Clatterbridge for the breast, lung & colo-rectal MDT’s.
