About Us

Sapphire Medical Clinics has pioneered treatment with medical cannabis as the first clinic to be approved to conduct this activity in the UK. The multi award-winning clinic was established by specialist doctors from Imperial College London in 2019 to provide healthcare professionals and patients with an expert opinion on their medical condition and help determine whether medical cannabis could be an option for their treatment. As the first CQC registered clinic in the UK, we are an accelerated start-up and are seeking a full-time Consultant Pain Specialist and a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist to join our clinical team providing care for our diverse range of patients.  

Job Summary

We are seeking 1) a Consultant Pain Specialist and 2) a General Adult Psychiatrist to work with our clinical team and existing specialists in evaluating and managing patients for consideration of treatment with medical cannabis. You will join a rapidly growing team of world-class clinicians with an interest in the evolving field of medical cannabis. You will have a dynamic personality and form an intergral part of the multi-disciplinary team and robust clinical governance processes for patients referred to Sapphire Medical Clinic (www.sapphireclinics.com). Your clinical activities will support the UK Medical Cannabis Registry data collection (https://www.ukmedicalcannabisregistry.com) and you will contribute the educational activities at the Sapphire Institute for Medical Cannabis Education (https://sapphirecannabiseducation.co.uk).

Support will be given to the post holder to undertake the necessary competency-based training and undergo our CPD-accredited medical cannabis educational programme.

Role Requirements

  • Certificate of Completion of Training / Specialist Training (CCST/CCT) or equivalent 
  • Fellowship in relevant field, workshops or research (Preferred) 
  • Evidence of interest in medical cannabis therapeutics
  • Engagement in clinical outcome data collection
