Consultant Geriatrician with an interest in Frailty 

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust wishes to appoint a Substantive Consultant Geriatrician with an interest in Frailty. 

The post will involve providing an acute geriatrician consult to the emergency department and the acute assessment unit and assessing appropriate patients identified & admitted to the frailty unit, which is geared towards same-day discharge or shortened length of stay. 

You will join a friendly and dedicated team consisting of a Consultant Geriatrician, nurses, therapists and junior doctors, who provide a Monday-Friday service. In time, an older person rapid assessment unit is planned for patients who are identified in the community as at risk of imminent hospital admission and in need of a comprehensive geriatric assessment.
