Making life-changing decisions as a lead medical officer.
Recruiting tomorrow’s Army today.
When it comes to inspirational leadership, our medical team will look to you. As a lead medical officer for the Capita Recruiting Partnership Project (RPP), you’ll support the activities of doctors and the wider medical team at our assessment centres to make sure everything runs smoothly. Carrying out efficient medical screenings, appeals and approvals at our Army assessment centre will all be part of your busy remit as you help us recruit the Army of the future.
If you’re looking to transfer your skills and experience to a role that’s more rewarding with a great work-life balance, this is a fantastic opportunity for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- conducting clinical work, including medical assessments (approx 30% of time but this may increase when required) for officer and soldier candidates
- motivating, training, supporting and managing your close-knit team of medical officers to get the best out of everyone
- working closely with external specialists, such as cardiologists, where appropriate and working directly with Army colleagues and senior medical officers in Army training establishments
- taking responsibility for team resourcing and responding to clinical complaints quickly and effectively
- deputising for the chief medical officer and deputy chief medical officer when required
What we’re looking for:
- a fully GMC qualified medical practitioner with licence to practise
- excellent leadership, managerial and delegation skills
- IT literacy and experience with Microsoft programmes
- commercial experience, awareness and an innovative thinker
- being able to work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines is essential
- occupational medicine experience is desirable.
About the Recruiting Partnership Project
We’re proud to work side-by-side with the Army to attract, source and select officers and soldiers for the British Army (Regular & Reserve) as part of the Recruiting Partnership Project (RPP). RPP is where Capita and the Army unite to look after those who apply to the British Army and guide them on their journey into basic training. We’re also proud to support the medical processes within the recruitment journey for the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy.
Our close-knit team is made up of both Capita and military colleagues in a huge variety of roles - including recruiters, assessors, interviewers, administrators, operations teams and medical staff. Join us and not only will you help Army candidates find where they belong, you’ll help make the Army the best it can be to keep our country protected.
