Senior Clinical Fellow in Ophthalmology Education (Locally Employed Doctor)

12 months

40 hours per week (Out of hours on call duties are included in this post)

Location: Manchester Royal Eye Hospital

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, employing over 28,000 staff.

The Medical Education Fellowship is suitable for a candidate with a medical degree and clinical experience in ophthalmology to ST2 level and above with an interest in medical education.

It is suitable for someone who wishes to take a year out of program from their training (subject to the necessary approvals), and in addition to their development in medical education will allow some clinical experience in the subspecialty of the candidate’s choice.

During the 16 weeks of Undergraduate Medical Education the timetable will be weighted towards teaching with 1 day being given over to non-education related clinical work, the remainder of the week will be spent in teaching sessions, teaching clinics or private study. Adequate cover will need to be arranged by the successful candidate for periods of annual leave.
